Leveltek
Helps Italian Steelmaker
Give the Boot to Shape Defects |
When management
of the Accia Speciali Terni (AST) facility, Terni, Italy, needed
a solution for eliminating edgewaves, center buckle, quarter buckle,
crossbow and mandrel breaks in stainless steel coil, they commissioned
Leveltek to provide a stretcher leveling system which uses a patented
technique for improving flatness.
The order was
placed in December 1997, Leveltek installed the equipment in December
1998 and was accepted by the Accia Speciali Terni facility in January
1999.
By using Leveltek’s
stretcher leveling system, AST — a division of the Krupp Thyssen
Stainless Group — has improved quality and productivity.
